Head of NCDC: Coronavirus positivity rate drops to 28 percent

COVID-19 positivity rate has dropped to 28 percent, and Georgia is showing the stabilization signs, Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), said at the daily press briefing at the Government Administration on Tuesday.

According to Gamkrelidze, 16 646 tests were performed throughout Georgia during the last 24 hours, among them 11 400 antigen-based, and 5 246 PCR tests.

“We had COVID-19 positivity rate at 32-31% for the last two weeks, now it stands at 28% that indicates stabilization signs in the peak of the pandemic,” Gamkrelidze said.

Georgia reported 4 673 new coronavirus cases, 3 893 recoveries, and 36 deaths on Tuesday.
