Head of Diseases Control Center goes into self-isolation

Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of National Center for Diseases Control and Public Heath has gone into self-isolation.

According to Press Service of the Center, Gamkrelidze had contact with infected persons. Also today, Tengiz Tsertsvadze, Director of Tbilisi Hospital of Infectious Diseases has been confirmed with COVID-19.

“According to the laboratory examination, Tengiz Tsertsvadze is infected. His health condition is satisfactory. He has mild symptoms. Therefore, he does not need to be in the hospital and he is being medically treated at home,” the Hospital administration said in the statement.
