A new program for Georgian Studies also referred to as Kartvelian studies or Kartvelology, will be launched at Harvard’s Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies with the support of the Georgian government in 2022.

The program will help students and scientific and intellectual circles to research Georgia. The course embraces Georgian culture, history and all fields of the humanities: linguistics, literary criticism, art, archaeology, folklore, ethnography, source study. The program will contribute to popularizing Georgian culture and history abroad.

Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili, who will deliver the first lecture, inaugurated the program in New York on the sidelines of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA).
