GPB turns 65

The First Georgian Television turned 65 today. Legendary presenters Lia Mikadze and Aleksandra Machavariani went on air for the first time from a studio at the Tbilisi Funicular at 20:00 on December 30, 1965.

Ten years later, First Georgian TV relocated to the current building of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) at 68 Kostava Street. It underwent tremendous transformations and expanded the coverage.

Currently, the Georgian Public Broadcaster unites First Channel, Teleskola (TV School), Georgian Radio and the web platform 1tv.ge. It represents the most reliable, balanced and safe media outlet.
