Georgian Public Broadcaster has opened a star to well-known TV presenter Davit Sokolov at the Mtatsminda Park, near Tbilisi TV Tower, on February 4.
General Director of the Georgian Public Broadcaster, Tinatin Berdzenishvili, stated at the ceremony that GPB established the tradition of opening the dedicatory stars to the famous TV presenters in 2013.
“I am very proud that we laid the foundation for the tradition of opening stars as a sign of respect to these people. This tradition will continue in the future. David Sokolov is still our employee, and it gives us more reason to be proud”, Tinatin Berdzenishvili said.
“My dears, this is not just a star! It is a lifespan,” Davit Sokolov remarked at the ceremony.
Davit Sokolov was the presenter of the news program Moambe and several socio-political programs for decades since the establishment of Georgian television.
Public Broadcaster opened dedicatory stars to the famous TV presenters, including Alexandra Machavariani, Lia Mikadze, Julieta Vashakmadze, Janeta Archvadze, Nugzar Jugheli, and Tengiz Natadze.
