The control over a face mask rule will be tightened, said Natia Mezvrishvili, the head of the government administration.

The face mask rule will be observed to the fullest extent, including on public transport, elevators and closed events, noted Mezvrishvili.

“We call on the citizens to follow the rules, show high civic responsibility, wear a face mask and practice social distancing.

Control will be tightened, both the police and the labour inspection will work actively,” stressed Natia Mezvrishvili.

Georgia has reported 44 new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) today, bringing the total number of infected people to 1 773.

Four patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, increasing the total to 1 325.
