Gov't: Since COVID-19 outbreak, we showed readiness to help citizens in the occupied regions of Georgia

“233 people from the occupied territories of Georgia entered the Georgian central government-controlled territory from March 22 to May 22. Of those, only one person tested positive for the novel virus,” the Government of Georgia said in its statement published today.

As reported, “since the COVID-19 outbreak began in Georgia, the Georgian Government showed its readiness to help citizens living in the occupied regions of Georgia.”

The Government noted that “Abkhazia has been repeatedly provided with various medical equipment and hygiene products via various channels. This process is ongoing.”

According to the report, “in order to treat patients with COVID-19, Rukhi Hospital began operating which eases access to medical care for the population living in the occupied territories.”
