Gogita Todradze -- The unemployment rate in Georgia decreased by 1.9% in the second quarter 2018

The unemployment rate in Georgia decreased by 1.9% in the second quarter 2018 and is 12.1% in comparison with the previous quarter. According to Gogita Todradze, executive director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia, the turnover is due to seasonal factors.

The unemployment rate is reduced by 3.9% in comparison with the previous quarter. The rate goes up to 17 % in the cities and the rate of unemployment is low in the villages of Georgia.

In general, throughout Georgia, in 2018, the rate of unemployment is decreased in comparison with the previous quarter.

Mostly this is caused by seasonal factors and is mainly related to the increase in the number of employees in the construction and agricultural sectors – Gogita Totradze stated.
