We already have a technical part of the NATO Membership Action Plan, MAP. Only political part is left- consensus of all member states, – Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili told the First Channel.
As Margvelashvili notes, NATO Membership Action Plan is a process which acquired various contents during the Alliance expansion. He says that other countries expected membership much longer than Georgia.
“This mechanism was frequently loaded with many technical processes and procedures. Georgia already has all these technical mechanisms. Georgia has already started fulfilling a large part of the Membership Action Plan – reforming process. We already have a technical part of the NATO Membership Action Plan, however, the part of political consensus still remains”, – President said.
