“We are not going to have a conflict with any part of the society regarding the draft-bill on cultivation of marijuana,” Giorgi Gakharia, Minister of Internal Affairs stated in response to the question how the ruling team was intended to persuade Patriarchate about the issue.

According to Gakharia, discussions over the draft-bill would continue until a consensus was reached. “This will be a healthy dialog, maybe a harsh debate. We may fail to reach an agreement since both sides have serious arguments,” Gakharia said.

The minister underlined that after a decision of the Constitutional Court, it became necessary to regulate the issue of consumption of marijuana.
