Giorgi Gakharia – I will remain on post until answer about use of proportional force is received

The police used the legitimate right and proportional force but some questions remain – Giorgi Gakharia, Minister of Internal Affairs said during the meeting with journalists on June 27.

Gakharia was answering questions about the June 20-21 developments during the protest rally in front of the parliament building at central Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi.

Gakharia said that he was fully responsible about acts of the police and that he would remain on post until all questions about the use of proportional force were answered. “Investigation is ongoing, Ombudsman and all interested sides can be involved in the process,” Gakharia said.
