Giorgi Gakharia: We have a very ambitious plan to make Georgian police more efficient

“We have a very ambitious plan at the Ministry of Internal Affairs to make Georgian police more efficient,” Giorgi Gakharia, Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs said at the event, where the agency was handed over new vehicles.

As Gakharia noted, the Ministry has a specific plan which envisages further reforming of the Patrol Police, complex reforming of the Criminal Police and integrated management of the borders. “Some of these reforms have already begun. We can already say that the first steps have been taken for structural reforms in the Patrol Police.

At the same time, I would like to point out that the number of pedestrian patrol inspectors is growing on Tbilisi streets,” Gakharia said.
