Giorgi Chanturia and his sister summoned for questioning

Giorgi Chanturia, person detained and then released into murder case of former MP and General Samson Kutateladze, co-owner of so-called Istanbul Market in Rustavi town of Kvemo Kartli region, and his sister Mariam Chanturia are summoned for questioning. The two are expected at investigation body at 17:00.

According to Lawyer Aleksandre Kobaidze, investigation is at dead-end. However, Kobaidze says that the defense is ready to cooperate with ongoing investigation.

Officers of Criminal Police carried out a repeated search in Chanturia’s house. His clothes and private items were taken for expertise.

Chanturia talked about pressure on part of law-enforcers in an interview with journalists. He confirmed that he had met with Kutateladze on murder day but denied fact of any confrontation with the killed General.

Chanturia was released on January 19 since he had strong alibi. In parallel, the house of Chanturia’s wife was searched at Mtskheta Street in Tbilisi.
