Italian Gianni Buquicchio was reelected as president of Venice Commission, Council of Europe reported.

“At its final plenary meeting on December 8-9, the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) elected its president and vice-presidents for a two-year term,” the report said.

The reelected president for the fourth time in a row, Gianni Buquicchio has been running the Venice Commission since 2009. A widely recognized expert on public law, Buquicchio, helped ensure the creation of the Commission in 1990. He started working for the Council of Europe in 1971.
