Recognition of Georgia’s regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali as independent states by Russia is unacceptable – reads the statement of German Foreign Ministry released in connection with the 10th anniversary of August 2008 Georgia-Russia war.

“Germany supports Georgia’s state sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. . . Germany supports Georgia’s efforts directed at peaceful resolution of conflicts,” reads the statement.
