It would be good for those in charge in Tskhinvali and Moscow to learn the lessons of the Berlin Wall – German Ambassador to Georgia Hubert Knirsch said when commenting on South Ossetia’s self-isolation.

According to the Ambassador, the problem related to the crossing of the administrative line once again shows the humanitarian consequences of the so-called “borderization.”

“In recent days, we have often heard that the de facto South Ossetian authorities prohibit citizens from crossing the administrative line even in severe medical cases. This once again shows the humanitarian consequences of the so-called “borderization”. It would be good for those in charge in Tskhinvali and Moscow to learn the lessons of the Berlin Wall,” Ambassador said in a statement released by the Embassy of Germany to Georgia.
