Geostat: Georgia's external trade turnover increased by 17.0 percent last year

External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 12.4 billion in 2018 (preliminary data), 17.0 percent higher year-on-year.

The value of export increased by 22.9 percent reaching USD 3.4 billion, while the import grew by 14.9 percent and amounted to USD 9.1 billion. The trade deficit equaled USD 5.76 billion and its share in trade turnover constituted 46.1 percent.

According to Geostat, figures of exports, imports and external turnover reached record highs last year.
