With the involvement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Georgian diplomatic missions abroad, Georgia’s Independence Day – May 26 is celebrated around the world with various events. The Georgian Foreign Ministry released this information.

According to Ministry, various sights of the world will be lit in the colors of the Georgian flag to celebrate the Independence Day of Georgia. In particular, the entrance to the Jaffa Gate in the old city of Jerusalem will be illuminated in the colors of the Georgian national symbol. In Japan, the colors of the Georgian flag are displayed on buildings in the center of Tokyo; Organized by the Consulate General of Georgia in Thessaloniki, the building of the City Hall of Thessaloniki will also be lit in the colors of the Georgian flag.

In order to celebrate May 26, one of the sights of Lithuania – the White Bridge, as well as the Town Hall of Kaunas will be lit in the colors of the Georgian national symbol. At 17:10 Georgian time, the Georgian flag will be raised on the main cathedral square of Vilnius, the anthem of Georgia will be performed. The colors of the Georgian flag will be displayed on the buildings of the Georgian embassies in Estonia and Azerbaijan.

Also, the symbol of Georgia will be displayed on the big screen of the shopping center in the center of Minsk, organized by the Embassy of Georgia in Belarus, and the flags of Georgia will be displayed in the streets of Dublin by the Embassy of Georgia in Ireland.

In the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Georgian national anthem will be played from the Hague bell tower.
