Georgian Public Broadcaster board to elect new Director General today

The Board of Trustees of the Public Broadcaster will elect a new Director General from the second-round candidates. Voting will kick off today, at 15:00.

The Board of Trustees held an interview with the second-round candidates on Thursday. The interviews were live-streamed on Georgian First Channel’s online platforms.

By the decision of the Board of Trustees on September 22, Tinatin Berdzenishvili, Irma Sokhadze, Khatuna Lagazidze and Alexander Vakhtangovi passed to the second round. However, after the interview, Alexander Vakhtangovi withdrew his candidacy.

The open competition for the vacant position of Director General of the Public Broadcaster ended on September 17. Eight candidates participated in it.
