Georgian President Salome Zourabicvili and her Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda sew the exhibition of artefacts at the Orbeliani Palace, discovered by Krukowski Georgian – Polish Interdisciplinary Research Center in Kutaisi.

The Georgian – Polish Research Center in Kutaisi discovered the capital of the kingdom of Colchis (Kolkheti) during the reign of King Aeetes which dates back to 14th-11th century BC, President’s press service reported.

President’s Advisor for culture, education, and science, Kote Natsvlishvili, said these discoveries prove that Kutaisi was the capital of Colchis.

President Zourabicvili noted that “the archaeological mission of the Krukowski Center is a great example of our cooperation. In Kutaisi, its discoveries, exhibited today at Orbeliani Palace, confirm that 3200 years ago, at the cradle of civilization, Georgia was already a part of Europe.”

The Krukowski Georgian – Polish Interdisciplinary Research Center has been operating in Kutaisi since 2018.
