Georgian PM urges citizens to get vaccinated

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili urges citizens to get vaccinated. PM says the government did its best to bring more than enough vaccines.

“We secured more than three million doses of coronavirus jabs. Today, a million doses of the Pfizer and a million doses of the China-made Sinovac jabs are available. Moreover, we work on to purchase two million doses of the Pfizer and a million doses of the Sinopharm vaccines, which will be useful for autumn,” PM noted.

Garibashvili also stressed the importance of opening the economy. “We have unprecedented economic growth. The country’s economy has increased by 12 % over the past seven months. Of course, this trend needs to be maintained,” PM added.

Earlier today, Georgia reported 2,210 coronavirus cases, 5,587 recoveries, and 74 deaths, increasing the total case tally to 564,837, among them, 514,768 people recovered and 7,806 died.
