Georgian local imprisoned in occupied Abkhazia

A Georgian citizen Irakli Bebua has been illegally sentenced to 9 years in prison in the occupied Abkhazia region, the State Security Service of Georgia reports.

The Service obtained the information about imprisonment on December 7 through the hotline.

According to the State Security Service, the Georgian official body immediately informed the co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions about the fact.

The State Security Service reported that the Georgian side is actively working with international partners.

Irakli Bebua’s case, as well as the issue of unconditional release of all Georgian citizens illegally detained on occupied territories, will be raised at the next round of Geneva International Discussions scheduled for December 10-11.
