Georgian gov't kicks off large-scale renovation program

Georgian government kicks off large-scale renovation program across the country, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced on Monday.

The new program entails the urban renewal in 63 municipalities, including rehabilitation of main cultural and historical heritage sites, administrative municipality centres, and arrangement of recreational spaces.

PM claims this project would create 15,000 new jobs.

“Newly attractive tourist attractions in the regions and better social environment will promote new opportunities for the locals,” PM Garibashvili noted.

The first phase of the project costs GEL 500 million.
