Georgian Defence Minister held telephone conversation with his US counterpart
Georgian Minister of Defence Juansher Burchuladze held a telephone conversation with the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on Thursday.
Sides discussed bilateral strategic cooperation issues and future plans.
The Georgian Defense Minister thanked his US counterpart for the strong support and emphasized Georgia’s commitment to bilateral strategic cooperation with the US and the Euro-Atlantic course.
Lloyd Austin noted that cooperation with Georgia as a distinguished and reliable strategic partner is of great importance for the United States. He expressed readiness for more engagement and further deepening of the partnership. The joint participation of Georgian and American troops in the Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan was in focus.
Juansher Burchuladze emphasized the new administration’s strong support amid threats from Russia. He also spoke about the US support for the successful implementation of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package.
