Georgian Airways sends 95% of its staff on unpaid leave for indefinite period

The Georgian Airways Air Company has sent 95% of its employees on unpaid leave for an indefinite period, Roman Bokeria, Director General of the airline, said on March 20.

According to Bokeria, due to canceled flights, the company is in a financial crisis and therefore the airline is sending its employees on unpaid leave.

“We will try to get back to work as soon as possible, mobilize financial resources to get our professionals back as soon as possible. Our staff is our biggest capital,” Bokeria said at a briefing.

Georgian Airways temporarily suspended implementing of regular flights will only carry out charter flights in coordination of the Georgian government.
