Georgia to secure 100,000 doses of Sinopharm jab on September 11

On September 11, Georgia will receive 100,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from the Red Cross, Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said on Wednesday.

The registration for Sinopharm jab will resume on Monday, Tikaradze noted.

The Minister stressed the low vaccination rate among high-risk groups, those aged over 60. She also said that the death rate is high among citizens over 70-80.

Tikaradze mentioned COVID-19 vaccine incentives that would be discussed with Finance Ministry to motivate pensioners to get jabbed.
