Georgia detects 687 coronavirus cases, 327 recoveries, 8 deaths

Georgia reported 687 coronavirus cases, 327 recoveries, and 8 deaths on Wednesday, the official figures show.

27,713 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 17,490 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 10,223 were PCR tests.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 351 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 84 cases, and the Imereti region with 68 cases.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 285,645, among them, 275,547 people recovered and 3,840 died.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 2,48%, while 1.98% in the past 14 days.

There are 169 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 1,984 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 291 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

Currently, out of 352 critical patients, 63 require mechanical ventilation.
