Georgia reported 5,504 coronavirus cases, 3,304 recoveries, and 24 deaths on January 16, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 3,222 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Adjara region with 768 cases, and the Imereti region with 483 cases.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 990,183 among them, 925,137 people recovered and 14,425 died.

Currently, out of 967 critical patients, 293 require mechanical ventilation.
