Georgia reports 5 739 coronavirus cases, 2 082 recoveries, 36 deaths

Georgia reported 5 739 coronavirus cases, 2 082 recoveries, and 36 deaths on Tuesday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1 862 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 1 151 cases, and the Kakheti region with 912 cases.

A total of 56 555 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 42 546 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 14 009 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 10,15 %, while 8, 64 % in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 670 552, among them 616 937 people recovered and 9 546 died.

There are 61 people quarantined, 5 570 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 1 020 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities.

As of October 19, 1 920 934 people got the Covid-19 vaccine, with 6 203 in a day.
