Georgia reports 5 567 coronavirus cases, 1 661 recoveries, 36 deaths

Georgia reported 5 567 coronavirus cases, 1 661 recoveries, and 36 deaths on Friday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 3 479 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Adjara region with 587 cases, and the Imereti region with 434 cases.

A total of 60 753 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 34 092 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 26 661 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 9.16 %, while 9.14 % in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 984 802, among them 924 072 people recovered and 14 395 died.

There are 68 people quarantined, 4 379 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 2 077 asymptomatic and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities.

As of January 14, 2 596 549 people got the Covid-19 vaccine, with 6 864 in a day.
