Georgia reports 2,176 coronavirus cases, 2,838 recoveries, 43 deaths

Georgia reported 2,176 coronavirus cases, 2,838 recoveries, and 43 deaths on September 16, the official figures show.

35,400 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 18,551 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 16,849 were PCR tests.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 589,727, among them, 554,618 people recovered and 8,390 died.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 6,15%, while 7,21% in the past seven days.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 756 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 357 cases and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 243 cases.

There are 75 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 5,637 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 1,350 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

Currently, out of 1,322 critical patients, 354 require mechanical ventilation.

As of today, 1,589,024​ people got the coronavirus vaccine, with 25,150 in a day.
