Georgia reports 2 844 coronavirus cases, 814 recoveries, 29 deaths

Georgia reported 2 844 coronavirus cases, 814 recoveries, and 29 deaths on Saturday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 775 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 607 cases, and the Kakheti region with 368 cases.

A total of 38 042 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 23 889 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 14 153 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 7, 48 %, while 5, 94 % in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 631 563, among them 598 468 people recovered and 9 221 died.

There are 67 people quarantined, 4 203 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 667 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities.

As of October 9, 1 862 753 people got the Covid-19 vaccine.
