Georgia reports 2 796 coronavirus cases, 2 088 recoveries, 17 deaths

Georgia reported 2 796 coronavirus cases, 2 088 recoveries, and 17 deaths on Thursday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1 359 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Adjara region with 413 cases, and the Imereti region with 263 cases.

A total of 41 684 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 23 712 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 17 972 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 6, 71 %, while 6, 73 % in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 413 626, among them, 379 685 people recovered and 5 768 died.

There are 58 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 5 427 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 1 811 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

As of July 29, 450 026 people got the coronavirus vaccine.
