Georgia reports 2 039 coronavirus cases, 2 192 recoveries, 56 deaths

Georgia reported 2 039 coronavirus cases, 2 192 recoveries, and 56 deaths on Friday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 716 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 321 cases, and the Kakheti region with 263 cases.

A total of 31 532 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 18 378 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 13 154 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 6, 47 %, while 7, 31 % in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 591 766 among them 556 810 people recovered and 8 446 died.

There are 52 people quarantined, 5 626 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 1 276 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities, 21 871 are in self-isolation, 19 582 people are treated at home.

As of September 17, 1 610 309 people got the Covid-19 vaccine, among them, 675 215 are fully vaccinated which makes 23, 6% of the adult population.
