Georgia reports 1 653 coronavirus cases, 2 646 recoveries, 47 deaths

Georgia reported 1 653 coronavirus cases, 2 646 recoveries, and 47 deaths on Thursday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 559 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 227 cases, and the Kakheti region with 241 cases.

A total of 28 553 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 15 965 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 12 588 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 5, 79 %, while 6, 85 % in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 602 065, among them 570 443 people recovered and 8 711died.

There are 39 people quarantined, 4 915 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 930 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities.

As of September 23, 1 700 895 people got the Covid-19 vaccine.
