Georgia reported 1 612 coronavirus cases, 419 recoveries, and 28 deaths on Wednesday, the official figures show.
Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 670 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 257 cases, and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 145 cases.
Georgia’s total case tally now stands at 235 491, among them 223 695 people recovered and 2 694 died.
There are 491 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 3 898 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 742 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.
Currently, there are 856 critical patients, among them, 275 require mechanical ventilation.
