Georgia reports 1 077 coronavirus cases, 442 recoveries, 8 deaths

Georgia reported 1 077 coronavirus cases, 442 recoveries, and 8 deaths on Friday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 641 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 109 cases, and the Adjara region with 99 cases.

A total of 31 645 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 20 727 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 10 918 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 3, 4%, while 2,77% in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 293 321, among them, 279 831 people recovered and 3 916 died. The number of vaccinated people is 26 427.

There are 331 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 2 720 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 400 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.
