Georgia reports 1 071 coronavirus cases, 680 recoveries, 33 deaths

Georgia reported 1 071 coronavirus cases, 680 recoveries, and 33deaths on Saturday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 581 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 100 cases, and the Adjara region with 96 cases.

A total of 29 985 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 16 333 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 13 652 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 3, 57 %, while 4, 11 % in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 336 840 among them, 317 069 people recovered and 4 602 died. As of May 21, 109 395 people got the coronavirus vaccine.

There are 80 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 4 270 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 701 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.
