Georgia reports 1 043 coronavirus cases, 841 recoveries, 20 deaths

Georgia reported 1 043 coronavirus cases, 841 recoveries, and 20 deaths on Thursday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 652 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Kvemo Kartli region with 62 cases, and the Imereti region with 61 cases.

A total of 31 229 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 14 057 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 17 172 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 3, 34 %, while 3, 27 % in the past 14 days. As of July 8, 283 631 people got the coronavirus vaccine.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 373 728, among them, 357 090 people recovered and 5 415 died.

There are 75 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 3 139 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 906 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.
