Georgia reports 544 coronavirus cases, 469 recoveries, 5 deaths

Georgia reported 544 coronavirus cases, 469 recoveries, and five deaths on Wednesday, the official figures show.

18, 244 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them 11, 615 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 6 629 were PCR tests.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 226 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 78 cases and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 57 cases.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 263, 601, among them 255, 385 people recovered and 3, 311 died.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 2.98%, while 3.41% over the past seven days.

There are 421 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 2, 094 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 316 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

Currently, out of 471 critical patients, 133 require mechanical ventilation.
