Georgia records 1 618 coronavirus cases, 403 recoveries, 26 deaths

Georgia reported 1 618 coronavirus cases, 403 recoveries, and 26 deaths on Tuesday, Berdia Sichinava, the Inter-Agency Coordination Council representative announced.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 750 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 234 cases, and the Samegrelo region with 126 cases, the official figures show.

Georgia’s total case tally now stands at 243 255, among them 227 611 people recovered and 2 846 died.

There are 496 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 3 873 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 579 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

Currently, there are 816 critical patients, among them, 242 require mechanical ventilation.
