Georgia invited to participate in international online panel

East European Institute of Washington invited Georgia to participate in an international online panel organized within the framework of European Neighborhood Initiative as being a successful example in struggle against spread of the novel coronavirus.

According to Tourism National Administration of Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the panel “COVID-19 in the Black Sea region: Potential threats and regional coordination” was organized on April 2.

Mariam Kvrivishvili, Head of Tourism National Administration introduced world leading experts with measures taken by Georgia to curb spread of the virus in the country.

Kvrivishvili said that increase of confirmed cases of coronavirus was expected in Georgia but the Georgian government was doing its best to slow down the speed of the growth.

“The Georgian government is carrying out active communication campaign to inform the Georgian citizens about what is important and what has to be paid attention since mutual responsibility is essential in struggle against COVID-19. The government has a strategy of what has to be done. At the same time, people are responsible for adhering to social distancing guidelines,” Kvrivishvili said.
