“One of the non-governmental organizations registered in the EU will pay bail for Nika Melia after that UNM Chairman could be released at any time,” Shalva Papuashvili, a member of the parliamentary majority, said. He added that it is up to Melia to refuse the bail.

As for the amnesty issue, Shalva Papuashvili explains that the amnesty would touch upon all cases related to June 20, not only Nika Melia.

Accordingly, Shalva Papuashvili said the amnesty bill would be initiated through appropriate procedures, and all persons associated and charged in connection with June 20 events will be amnestied.

Most of the Georgian political parties signed A way ahead for Georgia, a compromise document submitted to the parties by the European Council President Charles Michel, at the Orbeliani Palace on April 19.
