GD Chair says main target is to balance human life and state interests

The ruling party values each individual’s life and health regardless of political affiliation, said Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Georgian Dream (GD) party when commenting about the Droa party leader Elene Khoshtaria’s hunger strike.

“Our objective is to protect human lives and state interests at the same time. We should try our best to make a balanced decision with that purpose.

Following the meeting with majority members Irakli Kobakhidze, Mamuka Mdinaradze and Shalva Papuashvili on November 17, the Droa party leader Elene Khoshtaria said that she was ready for any kind of result-oriented communication to “find the way out from the current deadlock.”

Droa leader Elene Khoshtaria has been on a hunger strike since November 3 in solidarity with jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili.
