Fifth round of negotiations between GD, opposition to be held

Chairman of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze said that the fifth round of negotiations between the ruling Georgian Dream party and the opposition with participation of Diplomatic Corps will be appointed soon. The U.S. and EU Ambassadors will continue to facilitate the talks.

Nika Melia, Chairman of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) Party said the opposition was ready for a dialog to contribute to the de-escalation of tension.

Four rounds of negotiations held between the GD party and opposition ended in no promising results.

Georgia’s partner states called on the Georgian government and opposition to exercise utmost restraint and resolve the differences through peaceful negotiations.
