Foreign Minister says that emigrants will freely participate in elections

The government will ensure protection of emigrants’ rights so that they are able to participate in the elections freely – Georgian Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani said.

According to Zalkaliani, there are no problems in this direction. Foreign Minister clarified that there a plan already elaborated together with the Central Election Commission which will allow a citizen registered at the consulate abroad to participate in the elections.

“I do not see any problem under the current circumstances about any restriction for emigrants. Our government will ensure protection of their rights so that they can participate in the elections freely,” Zalkaliani said.
