Foreign Minister – Georgia has full support of partners regarding situation in occupied regions

Davit Zalkaliani, Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs said that during the meetings held within the framework of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the international partners once again expressed full support to Georgia and condemned the current situation in Georgia’s occupied regions.

Zalkaliani evaluated the meetings held with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, President of the European Council Donald Tusk and Secretary-General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland.

“We are working with everybody to find the effective means for regulation of the situation. We listen to and take into consideration the recommendations of our partners,” Zalkaliani said.

Additional measures and mechanisms to be used to discharge the tense situation with respect to security in Georgia’s occupied regions are actively discussed in the United Nations with partner states and organizations – Davit Zalkaliani, Georgian Foreign Minister said on September 24 when commenting about the meetings held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) session.

The 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is being held in New York. The general debate is to take place from September 24 to September 30, with dozens of world leaders scheduled to address the General Assembly.
