Foreign Minister – EU Resolution is yet another serious message that brings us closer to the final goal of EU integration

The resolution about Eastern Partnership adopted by the European Union is an important political message and confirmation of Georgia’s irreversible process of European integration – Davit Zalkaliani, Foreign Minister said.

Zalkaliani told Georgian Public Broadcaster that the messages in the resolution fully coincide with priorities of Georgia.

“Our leader position among Eastern Partnership countries is recognized by the European Union that is very important and fully coincide with priorities of Georgia,” Zalkaliani said.

Foreign Minister claimed that the EU Resolution is yet another serious message that brings Georgia closer to the final goal of EU integration.

On June 19, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on the future of the Eastern partnership. The resolution talks about the “aggression” of Russia, the prospect of membership of the six post-Soviet countries in the EU and sectoral integration in Europe.

Members of the European Parliament called on European Union Council to offer three associated partners – Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine – Expanded Strategy of Cooperation.
