Film Director Buba Khotivari dies at 74

Georgian film director and actor Buba Khotivari died at the age of 74. The Georgian National Cinema Center confirmed his death to the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB).

Buba Khotivari is known for Dabadebis Dge (Birthday, 1994), Mdgmurebi (Lodgers, 1989) and Dariali Sketches (1971). He was elected President of the Georgian Cinema Academy in 2019.

Khotivari worked as a film director at the Georgian Tele-Film Studio and Georgian Film cinema studio. He shot the Islam in Georgia, Lekhaim, Gospel of Mark documentaries. In 1988-1992, Khotivari served as a local administration (Gamgeoba) member and a Director of Georgia-UK joint firm Main Globe.
