Field hospitals may be needed in Georgia as the hospital sector is overloaded, Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), told GPB First Channel on Sunday.

“Up to 7,000 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized, among them, 1,665 are critical patients, while 368 require mechanical ventilation. Only vaccination and observing regulations could stop this. Face mask-wearing is also dwindled by 37 %, which is alarming,” Gamkrelidze said.

Earlier today, Georgia reported 3,700 coronavirus cases, 5,277 recoveries, and 81 deaths.
